1. Keep Work Areas Clean and Uncluttered
Slips, trips, and falls are among the most common workplace incidents. Clear walkways, remove obstacles, and ensure proper housekeeping throughout the day.
2. Use the Right Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Gloves, helmets, goggles, safety shoes — whatever the job requires. PPE only works when it’s worn correctly and consistently.
3. Follow Safe Work Procedures (SWPs)
Procedures exist for a reason. Whether it’s lifting techniques, machine operation, or chemical handling, stick to the approved method every time.
4. Report Hazards Immediately
If something looks unsafe — a loose cable, a leaking pipe, a faulty machine — report it at once. Early reporting prevents accidents.
5. Never Bypass Safety Devices
Guards, interlocks, emergency stops — these are designed to protect you. Removing or bypassing them puts everyone at risk.
